With each passing year, different trends take hold of the home decor world. Some of these are resurgent ones that fell out of fashion long ago, while others are entirely against the grain and untested. A recent release by Zillow Digs outlines the top trends projected to take home decor by storm in 2015:
- Gold Fixtures: The '70s are making a comeback in the form of this flashy alternative to silver and stainless steel fixtures. Today's gold accents are often modernized to some degree, usually with a finish that gives the metal a brighter sheen.
- Cowhide: This is the perfect bold complement to almost any style of decor, whether luxe or minimalist. Look for cowhide pillows, rugs and throw blankets in the coming year.
- Blue Accent Colors: Zillow Digs designers expect blue to be by far the most widely-employed color when it comes to home decor in 2015, and many of its considerable array of shades are the perfect aesthetic choice to couple with the 2015 Pantone Color of the Year, Marsala. "Pops of indigo blue or deep navy will become a staple in home design this year, as their deep natural hues become extra vibrant against warm earth tones like Marsala," said Zillow Digs' Kerrie Kelly.
- Wallpaper: According to Zillow Digs experts, this once outdated mode of wall decoration is on the upswing. Don't be surprised if you see a lot of patterned or textured walls in the months ahead.
