So you have decided that commercial window film or residential window film offer the right combination of functionality, style and affordability for your business or home. Now you just need to decide which option to choose. With many different kinds of window film available, we have narrowed down the list to include three popular options that serve important purposes:
Insulating Films. These films reflect the sun’s heat in the summer, helping keep your business or home cool and reducing the amount of time you need to run your air conditioner. During the winter, they also are helpful, retaining close to 55% of your home’s heat. The films also limit damage to furnishings as well as floors and window treatments since they block 99% of UV (ultraviolet) rays. Insulating films offer year-round comfort and are an energy-efficient, cost-saving option. They can often pay for themselves in less than a year.
Glare Films. In addition to reducing glare, these films offer flexibility in that they are removable and reusable. They can be especially useful in offices with computers or televisions since they prevent screen washout, giving your office a cleaner, more finished look. This kind also blocks 99% of UV rays. They should be applied to the interior of single-pane windows or to the outside of dual-pane windows.
Privacy Films. Privacy films do what you would expect: prevent others from seeing into the interior of your business or home. Composed of translucent material, Frosted privacy films enable light to pass through while still providing around-the-clock protection. Mirrored privacy films offer daytime protection, while Black static-cling films do the same thing and also reduce the amount of light entering the room.
